Day 10

This time I had a b&w ref and I came up with the colors.

Day 9

Did some live paintings, only one turned out good enough.
Need to work on that construction, I always seem to forget about it when I’m having fun.

Day 5

Although I’ve been really busy lately, I have been studied. Just that I don’t feel like my studies turned out good enough to post.
Anyway, I think I’ve been struggling with finding the right style and workflow that fits me perfectly for almost a year now. And at the end of 2013 I can say that my journey is getting close to an end. I’ll start 2014 knowing exactly which points to concentrate on and knowing what steps of my workflow should I focus on.

If a couple of months ago I was getting certain areas of a drawing in the exact style that I really love, and it wasn’t really something I could control, now I finally got it and I am able to control it a lot better.

Day 4

Focusing on poses these days, since I’ve noticed I spend a lot of time, like even half of the time on the pose, when I’m trying to design a character.
I don’t know, but the way I see it is you have to automatize your anatomy, pose, proportions, shapes, light and all other basics in order to be able to fully focus on designing.
And because I dance a lot in my spare time, I understand that you can’t focus on your steps and your hands at the same time, unless you repeat the steps so much, that they become part of you, like walking, or driving. Only then you can focus on your hands, doing styling, spotting and stuff like that.
That’s what I’m trying to apply in art, getting the basics to be automatic, so I can fully focus on a design.
